Type 3

Date stamps inscribed V.R. POSTE EGIZIANE had a smaller diameter than Type I. This third type succeeded the altered Type II, and came into use in December 1869. Including the various sub-types, it remained in use until mid-1881. Only a few offices later altered it by removing V.R. in late 1875 to satisfy the Ottoman Sultan by indicating that the ruler of Egypt was the Ottoman Sultan. The diameters range from 22 mm to 22.5 mm.
