AUSIM

Ausim is considered to be one of the most ancient places in this governorate. In the distant past Ausim was known as ‘Likopolis’ during the reign of Egypt’s pharaohs and was part of the Manf countryside. Its name was changed to Cimokht in the Ptolemic era, and then later became known as Ausim. Many Egyptian leaders and kings of ancient Egypt, such as King Thutmose III, lived in Ausim. The agricultural nature of the city has been slowly transformed over time, and it is now home to several industries after a number of factories were built there.
