Bacos (Baqūs) is a densely populated area near Alexandria’s train station, and was named after the people who established the train line in Alexandria.  It used to house many Armenian and Greek workers, as did Muharram Bey. Old palaces were gradually demolished and replaced by high-rise buildings.
