Sa El-Hagar was an old city in Egypt and the capital of the fifth province, west of the Delta.

Its old Greek name was Saies. It is south of Desuk and northwest of the Delta.  It reached the peak of its fame after Pharaoh Besmetique freed Egypt from Assyrian rule in 651 BC and declared it the capital of the 26th Dynasty.
