Tamiya city contains ancient Pharaonic monuments in its central district. Kom Oshim is a nearby tourist attraction because of its archaeological significance. There is a very large agro-economic industry in nearby Biahmo, which is famous for its farms and industry. A large number of tourist sites can also be found in this district, such as the base of a statue of Amenemhat III which is visited by many foreign tourists.
