Al-Ibrahimia is located in the centre of Alexandria and is one of its oldest districts.  It has narrow streets and the buildings are built close together.  It used to house the Greek, Italian, Armenian and French communities until the middle of the 20th century.  It was the main district for the Greek community before they left after the Suez Canal war.
