Santah is located about 20 kilometers south-east of Tanta and considered to be an extension of Tanta because it is just two train stations away.  Santah is one of the oldest villages in Tanta central district, and its original name was Sadmant, as mentioned in the Geographical Dictionary. It is famous for the production of animal feed, and has a large commercial center that serves all the neighboring villages.
