MIT GHAMR

Mit Ghamr was originally known as Meniet Gham and was mentioned in several well-known books: those of Nozhat Al-Moshtaq, El-Kawanen, Tohfat Al-Ershad, Taj El-Arous, and in ‘The Rules’ by Ibn Mamati.  It was also mentioned in the book of Al-Entesar under the name of Meniet Omar. Then the name was modified from Meniet Gham to Mit Ghamr.  It was mentioned in 1228 AH of the Islamic Calendar under the name of Mit Ghamr, and appointed as a central administrative district in 1871 AD.
