Nawas El-Ghiet is one of the largest villages in Aga central administrative district and also in the whole of Dakahlia governorate. It is located on the northern border between the two central administrative districts of Aga and Mansoura.  Nawas El-Ghiet is one of the largest villages in Aga central district, and also in the whole of Dakahlia governorate. It was originally known as Nawas, meaning The Companion, because people were looking for companions in that area, as the region had a very small population at that time and they were also looking for security there. By the time the word El-Ghiet, meaning The Field, was added to the name, the village included many fields.
