Kafr Elzayat

Kafr El-Zayat is one of the largest industrial cities in Egypt, having a large number of factories and companies. Its name, Kafr El-Zayat, means The Hamlet of the Oil Merchant because cooking oil factories are located there. It also has brick factories and soap factories.  It is included in the list of the world's most populated cities.

Kafr El-Zayat is located mid-way between Cairo and Alexandria, on the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road, adjacent to the railway line that connects Egypt’s capital city with its most famous city on the Mediterranean.  It is situated beside the Nile River, which increases its beauty. The Nile Corniche in Kafr El-Zayat is one of the most beautiful places in Al-Gharbiya governorate.

Due to the importance of Kafr El-Zayat, its railway station is a stopping place for all the fast trains. It is also one of the most beautiful and important cities on the Cairo-Alexandria Agricultural Road.
