Fraschor

Faraskour is one of the large cities in Damietta governorate. It is also a historic city since it contains many old monuments, including El-Hadidi Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in Egypt. This city is famous for its many craftsmen, such as carpenters, blacksmiths, furniture manufacturers, and makers of oriental sweets, as well as dairy products, such as cheese. Faraskour was previously under the jurisdiction of Dakahlia governorate before 1952, but is now included within Damietta governorate.
