Type 6

This sixth type of cancellation is distinguished from other date-stamps by the emergence of the French language inscription POSTES EGYPTIENNES. It signaled a shift from the use of Italian to that of French at post offices in Egypt.  They were used only in Alexandria, Helwan, Roda and Suez between 1877 and 1881.  The diameters range from 22.5 mm to 26.5 mm.
