Damietta

Damietta City is the capital of Damietta governorate, located to the north of the Nile Delta and east of the Nile River. It is famous for its production of furniture, sweets and cheeses. It also has a very popular seaside area, called Ras El-Bar, located at the meeting of the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile. The cultivated land of the governorate is 115,892 acres and it is famous for its wheat crops, as well as corn, cotton, rice, potatoes, lemons, grapes and tomatoes.
