Giza

Giza is a city and the capital of Giza governorate. It is located a short distance south of Cairo city, with the Nile on its eastern side, and the desert on its west. Giza city, Cairo city and Shubra Al-Kheima together comprise Greater Cairo. Giza is the second largest Egyptian city after Cairo in respect of size and population due to its moderate weather and nearness to Cairo, the capital of Egypt. It has many hotels, restaurants and souvenir shops.

Giza is most well-known for being home to the famous Pyramids and Sphinx. More than a million tourists visit Giza every year to see them.
