Balyana is a city to the west of the Nile. It has an ancient history, and the origin of its name, as suggested by historians, can be traced back to Queen Paulina. The name later became changed from Paulina to Blina, then to Al-Balyana, its currently known name. It contains the famous Temple of Abydos in Orabiya
