Zefta is a city in the central administrative district of Samanoud, under the jurisdiction of Al-Gharbiya governorate. It is located about 35 kilometers south-east of Tanta city, the governorate capital, and about 40 kilometers south of Samanoud city.

Zefta attracts the Majazeb and Darawish from all over the world. It includes many villages, and produces about 20% of the linen production in Egypt. It has ready-made clothing factories, which have recently increased in number. The village of Nahtay, adjacent to Zefta, is more advanced in the industrial sector than Santa.
