MITUBIS

Mitubis is distinguished for its expansion of agriculture throughout the village and for employing modern agricultural machinery. Moreover, this central district is distinguished for having expanded the lakes that surround it, which has led to an increase in the population.  More residents now work as fishermen and in other activities such as making boats and tools for the fishing industry. In 1799, during the withdrawal of the French army after it was defeated by the brave people of Rashid, the French soldiers were set upon by the people of Mitubis as they travelled along one of the Mitubis roads on their way to Alexandria. Mitubis was under the jurisdiction of Fuwa central district in the early 17th century.
