Tod is one of the centers of Luxor Governorate. A decision of Prime Minsiter is issued to transfer it to a city and Center. It contains Northern El-Adesat, Southern El-Adesat, Mnshiet El-Noba, Naga' El-Wehda, Naga' El-Gosour, and Naga' El-Tawil-Eltod

Tod is situated on the eastern side of the Nile and about 15 km south of Luxor city.

It was the cult center of Mento, the idol of war in Old Egypt.
